“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,” Hebrews 6:19
Our world today is without anchor. Lives — like boats tossed about and damaged by storms — have been stripped of their rudders and left without direction. When the sea calms and they find themselves surrounded by the endless monotony of the ocean, they almost wish for another storm to rise up. At least then they’d be too distracted to consider the hopeless and broken condition of their vessels. At least then they’d not have to face the weariness of yet another day exactly like the one before.
There is a hope. He is secure, steadfast, and trustworthy. In the storms of life, He gives peace. In the weariness of life, He gives purpose. Though our imperfect and battered vessels sometimes fail us, He never does.
I have this hope.
